As the skin heals after microneedling, collagen and elastin production increases.
Microneedling

Microneedling, also called skin needling or collagen induction therapy, is a treatment that involves using tiny needles to create minute punctures in the skin. These small contact points stimulate the body's wound healing response, leading to the renewal of skin cells.

As the skin heals, collagen and elastin production increases, resulting in a nearly immediate plumping effect. This process also addresses other skin issues, including scarring, dark spots, sun damage, and signs of aging.

While microneedling is most commonly performed on the face, it can also be applied to the legs, back, neck, or any other areas with damaged or aging skin. To achieve noticeable results, it is recommended to undergo 6-8 treatments, spaced 3-5 weeks apart, allowing your skin time to heal between sessions.

The procedure may cause temporary side effects such as bleeding, bruising, redness, tightness, itching, and peeling, which usually resolve on their own within a few days. Microneedling is generally safe for most people, but it is not recommended for those with active acne, infections, or wound healing issues.

Benefits of Microneedling

Microneedling is widely used to address various skin concerns, including:

Dull Skin: Revitalises tired, lack lustre skin and combats early signs of aging.

Wrinkles: Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen production.

Scarring: Improves the appearance of acne and chickenpox scars, and smooths out uneven skin texture.

Pigmentation: Helps fade dark spots and patches caused by sun damage or aging.
